South Australian Kick Start Fellowship

Supporting early career researchers based in South Australia to elevate career progress towards becoming fully funded postgraduate researchers.

The fellowship aims to:

• Acknowledge and encourage promising early career researchers in cardiovascular health
• Enhance the career prospects of early-stage cardiovascular researchers
• Foster collaboration and innovation to advance cardiovascular health research in South Australia

Eligibility

Key eligibility criteria:

• South Australian resident
• SA CVRN Member and involved in cardiovascular research
• Submitted PhD and less than 2 years post PhD (excluding career disruptions and considering relative to opportunity).
• Have support of a supervisor/research team at a South Australian university
• Must not accept funds from the Tobacco industry or be affiliated with promotion of tobacco products.

What’s the value of the fellowship?

Up to two fellowships will be offered in 2025 at a salary of $87,681 p.a. for the two-year duration of the fellowship.

When can you apply?

The Heart Foundation South Australian Kick Start Fellowship open once per year for applications.

• Application open: 6 March 2025
• Application close: 5:00pm ACST 24 April 2025
• Review period: May 2025
• Notification: 5 June 2025
• Funding commences: 1 July 2025
